What is an Auto Glue Feeder?

Auto-feed systems automatically replenish hot melt systems to their desired adhesive level. Their presence completely eliminates the task of your workers having to manually fill hot melt glue tanks. This allows you to keep operators safe and eliminate their interaction with a hot melt system that can burn them, but also saves time and money in your packaging process.

The best auto feeders have hot melt glue tanks that can hold 200 pounds of glue. Astro offers two different auto glue machines that have lid assemblies compatible with Nordson ProBlue and DuraBlue Series melters, as well as Nordson 2300 and 3000 melters. ITW Dynatec and Slautterback melt units also work with our equipment.

SureFill Automatic Glue Filling System

This auto glue feeder monitors and maintains adhesive levels for your glue machines and hot melt units so the reservoir stays filled at optimum levels at all times. By keeping the levels in a good place, this prevents charring, thermal shock, glue spills, overfilling, and operator burns.

The SureFill system has a pneumatic feeder at the bottom of a completely sealed container. When levels are low, an ultrasonic level sensor tells the system to feed adhesive from the container to the hot melt reservoir. Once full, the sensor turns off the pressure and stops the pellets from flowing into the machine.

ADS-1 Automatic Glue Filling System

This out-of-the-box installation with drop-in adhesive tank connection is an easy addition to any packaging process. The ADS1 DynaFill also has a low level indicator that sends a signal when it needs adhesives, so it can automatically replenish the hot melt equipment. This activates a positive pressure suction that draws the adhesive from the storage container and pushes it into the hot melt unit. This system eliminates the traditional nozzle plugging and system contamination of manually filling the adhesive deposit, and it reduces the risk of thermal shock to the hot melt system.
