The model 817 Eco Top Only Case Sealer is the industry choice for its rugged construction and capability to satisfy 24/7 operations. The machine is built on a powder coated, mild steel frame.

This semi-automatic, bottom belt drive, top only case sealer is made specifically for hand packing operations; the machine includes an 18” long x 24” wide hand packing station. After hand packing, operator pushes case into machine and it takes care of the rest; glue application, major flap folding and compression.

The major benefit of this machine is giving the owner the ability to provide their customers’ a glued case, affordably. Another plus is a glued box is more attractive, over tape seal, as glue DOES NOT cover your graphics. Glue sealing is also better for your bottom line, since, over time, gluing is cheaper than tape, and a glued box makes pilferage of valuable product, harder.

If you have multiple case sizes, that is not a problem, as there are just two adjustments to make via hand cranks for case height and width, while selecting the glue pattern is easily performed via the included 3” operator interface. The provided pattern controller can store up to 10 different 4-event patterns. Changeovers take no longer than a minute or two!

Astro Packaging also provides a wide range of other case sealer types to accommodate the packaging industry’s other needs and speeds.

Allow us to show you how the model 817 Eco Top Only case sealer can be the solution to your needs.

Astro Packaging Freedom Series Wrap Around Case Packer

Astro Packaging’s FREEDOM SERIES Wrap Around Case Packer is designed with your floor space and production environment in mind. The machine is built to make case size changeover an easy process while its small size makes it a comfortable fit on your production floor. The Freedom Series wrap around case packer can run up to 35 cases per minute maximum line speed.

The wrap around case packer is constructed on a 2 x 2 x 3/16” wall tube steel frame. The open design makes access to internal components easy. The case path through the machine has an angled pan at the bottom of the frame so any items that fall through slide to the operator side for easy retrieval. All product contact parts are stainless steel, plated or an approved plastic. The Freedom Series wrap around case packer is so versatile that it can be changed over from packing cases to packing trays without modification.

Operation of the Freedom Series wrap around case packer is simple. A wrap around shipper is pulled off the case hopper via vacuum, opened into a “J” shape, and placed onto the flight chains where four opposed “flight lugs” hold the cases in place. The erected case is forwarded to the packing station where it waits for a product group. Product is accumulated into its proper pack patter and then pushed into the waiting empty case. The case is moved to the gluing station where hot melt glue is applied to the manufacture joint by a “flying” glue head. The case moves again to the closing station while opposed hot melt glue heads apply hot melt to the ends of the case. When the case comes to a stop the entire case is squared and flaps are closed and sealed. The case discharges onto your conveyor straight out the back of the machine (no change of case path is necessary.)

This case packer machine is built to make case size changeover an easy process while its small size reduces the footprint on your production floor. Because of its flexibility in design, the Independence Case Packer can either load cases from the side or the end. The case packer can run up to a maximum line speed of 15 cases per minute.

The Independence case packer is constructed on a structural steel frame and the open design makes access to internal components easy. The case path through the machine has an angled pan at the bottom of the frame to catch any items that may fall through during service for easy retrieval. Product contact parts can be made in stainless steel, plated or an approved plastic. The Independence Case Packer machine is so versatile that it can be converted from packing cases to packing trays without needing any modifications.

Astro Packaging Liberty Series Bottom Load Case Packer

Astro Packaging’s Liberty Series Bottom Load Case Packer is built with a unique design where compactness and flexibility are a concern. The bottom load case packer machine is a good fit when your product must be kept upright when case packed and drop packing is not an option. The Liberty Series bottom load case packer can run up to a maximum speed of 15 cases per minute.

The operation of the Liberty Series bottom load case packer is simple. A knock down flat case is pulled off the case hopper via vacuum, and opened by an opposed vacuum cup arm thus pulling the case open and holding it in place over the load station. Product is accumulated into its proper pack patter and then pushed into the waiting empty case into the bottom of the case. The case bottom flaps are closed and filled case is moved to the case sealer. The case is pushed into the integrated case sealer where remaining flaps are closed and sealed by either pressure sensitive tape or hot melt glue. Due to the nature of the Liberty Series bottom load case packer’s design, case discharge is usually higher than normal line heights. We can remedy this by using the optional case “lower-ator” which will lower the case down to a height that matches your production line using a minimal amount of floor space.

Liberty Series Bottom Load Case Packer Standard Features:

Astro Packaging Patriot Series Case Erector

Astro Packaging’s Patriot Series Model PS417HS Automatic Case Erector is built to make case size changeover an easy process, while its small size reduces the floor space required to fit on your production floor. The Patriot Series Case Erector can run a maximum of 45 cases per minute.

The case erector is engineered to be the most dependable and durable machine in its class. A horizontal case magazine ‐ that requires no follower mechanism ‐ makes adding knock down flat cases to the machine a simply performed task. The full length gull wing guarding assures eased access to the internal components of the equipment. Assured and reliable case opening is provided through opposed vacuum cups “pulling” the case open. A squaring system at the compression station assures the box is square prior the flaps being sealed.

The Patriot Series case erector operation is simple. A case knock down flat (KDF) is pulled from the integrated magazine and transferred to the opening station. The case is opened and then proceeds to the minor flap folding station. After minor flaps are folded, the case is carried past the gluing station where hot melt is applied, and major flaps are folded. At the compression station, the case is squared, and then the major and minor flaps are sealed. Size adjustments are simply performed via hand wheels with digital readouts or etched steel rules to insure repeatable changeovers.

Allow us to show you why the Patriot Series Model PS417HS Case Erector can be the solution to your automated case erecting needs.

Astro Packaging Case Erector and Poly Bag Case Liner

Astro Packaging’s model PBCL‐32ET automatic case erector poly bag case liner is designed with your floor space and operating environment in mind. Changeover from one case to another is easily performed via a few adjustments while its small size makes it a comfortable fit on your production floor. The machine can run up to – dependent on case size ‐ a maximum speed of 12 cases per minute.

The machine opens the case via opposed vacuum cups to “pull” the case open to assure consistent and reliable case erection. The case proceeds to the lining station where bag is fed, cut from the roll, opened and cuffed over the open flaps of the case. Bag web control is assured via dual feed rolls; one set for feeding the “dancer” roll and another to feed bag into the case. Bag roll supply rests in a cradle with no need of a spindle to reduce the time of bag replenishment.

Bag opening is performed via dual vacuum blocks that assure opening of bags while providing a non-pinching surface so bag tearing does not occur. An induced vacuum from the bottom of the open case “draws” the bag into the bottom and sides of the case “lining” it with poly thus removing the risk of the bag becoming drawn into the case during the filling process. Cuffing of the bag is performed last so the bag does not tear over the open flaps. After bag insertion the case’s flaps are closed and pressure sensitive tape is applied. The finished case is discharged to your conveyor ready for filling.

Astro Packaging Poly-Bag Uncuffer Top Sealer

The Ridgeline Machine Design, LLC model PBUC‐UFC automatic poly‐bag uncuffer, bag fold and case top sealer is the industry leader and well known for its rugged construction and 24/7 operation and – depending on case size ‐ capable of a maximum speed of up to 15 cases per minute.

At its heart is the uncuffing and bag folding method that has been in practice since 1988. The “feathering” uncuffing fingers get around your case and then come together below the cuffed bag then elevate to stand the bag upright. While the bag is about to get its first fold bag gusset tucking is performed and one major flap is pulled back so the final bag fold is done as close to the top of your product as possible assuring complete bag coverage.

After the final bag fold the case is released to the tamp station where any remaining air in the bag is relieved so the bag does not balloon out of the closing case flaps making a pleasant looking case closure and tape seal. Finished case is released to your take‐away conveyor for palletizing.

Allow us to show you how the model PBUC‐UFC automatic poly‐bag uncuffer, bag fold and case top sealer can be the solution to your needs.

Astro Packaging’s MODEL 34B SIDE & END SEALER is a unique offering for the bed frame and book shelf
industry, among others, for sealing the long edge of boxes. It is built ruggedly for a 24/7 operation and capable of
a maximum speed of up to 4 cases per minute (dependant on operator dexterity.)

The machine uses a side belt drive to carry the case past the glue gun and seal the long side flap. By using side belts,
there are no flight bars or side lugs to cause timing problems that result in jams and spills due to the bars or lugs
tearing through the case and product. Also, because we use wide belts and a large   hp motor, there is no bottom
belt needed to drive the case through the machine, so this eliminates the need to clean the bottom belt as it can
collect random glue spray.

Astro Packaging also offers as an option, automatic end sealing. After the case exits the side belt sealer, it comes to
a stop, squared, and then pushed 90  to apply hot melt and then close the flaps.

STANDARD FEATURES

dexterity.)

Side belts driven by line shaft and gearing to insure uniform
side belt feed rate.

Quick size changeover via lead screws with digital readout.

Simple two photo eyes for glue start/stop application.

One gun in machine, and two hand guns on discharge for
manual end sealing.

Nip and pinch point guarding.

Non-lube service pneumatic components.

208-230 Volts AC 1 or 3-phase 30 amp main
supply (other voltages are available).
