Five Zone Temperature Control - The T500 Temperature Controller
is a microprocessor-based scanning controller for regulating up to five
temperature zones in a hotmelt applicator system.
Integrated into the control panel of a Slautterback melt unit, the T500 independently monitors and controls adhesive temperature in each zone. It controls temperature in the melt tank, two heated supply hoses and two applicators.
The T500 scans temperature inputs from RTD sensors located in each heated zone. The "learn process" is a design feature which samples the watt density of each zone. it automatically tunes itself to maintain temperatures. A Run indicator light illuminates when all heated zones reach operating temperature. Set Value and Actual temperatures for each zone can be displayed on zone at a time or continuously with display scan mode.
Standby temperature values may be set for each zone, allowing the system to remain at lower temperatures during periods of inactivity. A single high and low limit for Run and Standby modes can be set for all zones. When temperatures exceed the high or low limit, an alarm condition occurs. The Alarm indicator will light if a temperature-related malfunction persists in any zone. All temperature control settings are easy to program and operate with convenient toggle switches.
Features:
- Easy to program and operate
- Monitors and controls up to five thermal zones with high and low temperature limits for all zones
- LED indicates the system is in standby
- Self-tuning for proportional control of each temperature zone.
- Optically isolated solid state relay for electrical noise immunity
- Scan mode displays actual temperature of each zone at two second intervals
- Warm up relay and thermoswitch provide pump startup protection
- Selectable standby temperature setting reduces adhesive char and degradation
- Program and configuration security
- Selectable Fahrenheit or Celsius scales
- Self-test circuit with visual alarm for checking RTD sensor and heater
- Optional auxiliary control features extend the capabilities of the T500 with circuitry for Alarm Output, Automatic Shut-off and Automatic Standby

OPTIONAL AUXILIARY PACKAGE
Alarm Output
Circuitry and contact operate an external audible or visual alarm when a heating
malfunction occurs. Alarm device may be customer supplied or purchased separately from
Slautterback.
Auto Shut-Off
Power is removed from hotmelt system if an alarm condition is not remedied in 90
seconds.
Auto-Standby
After a period of applicator inactivity, the T500 changes all temperature zones from
Run to Standby mode. The period of inactivity is selected by user up to 99.9 hours.
